"Our mission, is to engineer your dream of adventure into reality, with British-built, all-terrain campers that are tested to be, tough, capable, and built to last."
— Roadtrip Industries
Tried. Tested. Lived.
Road Trip Industries is a Sussex based firm specialising in building all-terrain campers. Starting our first van conversion in 2019 we've been working on refining the build process putting usability, serviceability and reliability the primary focus of our conversions. Since 2023 we've brought that same ethos to truck overland 4x4 conversions. Our conversions are CAD driven, with a clear design process. We've tested our conversions from High Alps to the Sahara desert and everywhere in between.
History
Initially trained as an IT Engineer, Dave also pursued a career in motorcycle racing. Racing is what started his path converting campervans, with his first, a VW T5 in 2013. After retiring his VW T5 to facilitate his racing, he turned it into a machine more suitable for exploring. It was here his passion for adventure at a slightly slower pace was born. Fast forward to 2019, Dave was still not satisfied with the campers available on the market to support his next mission of traveling Europe for a year with mountain bikes and paragliders. So he set out to build his next camper, a VW LWB Crafter where he continued to live in for three years, making small changes along the way.
Since testing his craftsmanship around Europe, Dave has settled in Sussex and has since supported the build of a 2017 Sprinter and an 18t 4x4 MAN LE2000. As of 2024 he has successfully finished field trials of his latest build, a 10 ton 4x4 ex MOD overlander in the Sahara Desert.
"We've come a long way since the early days but are confident, after 10 years of hard "Road Tripping," we've got a pretty good idea of what makes a van or truck into a great camper."
